Our cooking classes are designed to help you cook healthy, sustainable food for you and your family while keeping a close eye on budget. All classes are $25 per adult, kids 12-17 come free with adult. And come hungry! In our classes, you’ll always eat well. Space is limited, so please sign up today with a friendly PFC cashier.

Vote for your Board!

WHEN: Deadline to cast online ballots or paper ballots by mailing or returning them to the store: Wednesday, April 15 by noon


Last-minute voting: Before PFC Annual Owner Meeting, Thursday, April 16, 6-7pm.

WHAT: It's time to vote for your Board of Directors!

This year there are two ways to vote: paper ballot, and secure online ballot. Whichever you choose, please remember that you can only vote once. Click here for full voting instructions and information on the candidates. 

Ballots may be cast until noon on Wednesday, April 15 by returning paper ballots to the store or voting online. Last minute voting can be done before the PFC Annual Owner Meeting during the check-in period (6-7pm). Election results will be announced at the Annual Owner Meeting.

100-Mile Market: Kzoo's only all-local farmers market!

WHEN: Wednesdays 3pm until 7pm, May 4 - October

 

WHERE: Parking Lot of the People's Food Co-op

WHAT:  Join us for the 100-Mile Market every Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm, May through October! All food sold at this market is required to be grown or produced within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. 

 

We accept Bridge Cards at the market, and we'll be participating again in the Double Up Food Bucks program! SNAP benefits customers, bring your Bridge Card to the market to get your SNAP tokens. In June, SNAP benefits will be matched up to $20 for fresh Michigan-grown fruits and veggies! That's $20 for free!

Kalamazoo Farmers Market

WHAT: Celebrate Michigan's second-largest farmers market! We'll have the hundreds of food vendors, artists, and artisans you love, plus food trucks, live music, and more. 

People's Food Co-op is proud to manage the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. Our purpose is to connect customers and market businesses through honest relationships and to support community and local economies through a thriving market culture.

Cooking Class: Yogurt & Kefir

WHAT: Yogurt and Kefir are both fermented dairy products that are full of gut-healthy probiotics. They are also both very easy to make, needing only materials you already have.

You'll learn how to make both yogurt and kefir, as well as how to make different varieties of yogurt, and how to easily incorporate both into your diet.  Instructor: Kelly Zajac

Owner Appreciation Days: Coopiversary
