Now Hiring: Deli, Market Assistant!


We are seeking a self-motivated, people and food loving person for 28 hours a week during the farmers’ market season, April through November. As part of the Farmers’ Market team, the Market Assistant works to coordinate the 100-Mile Market every Wednesday afternoon, 3-7pm, and organizes live music performances, cooking demonstrations, and kids’ activities for the Kalamazoo Farmers’ Market.


The Market Assistant is a leader in providing excellent customer service to all People's Food Co-op and Farmers’ Market customers and staff, should be comfortable working in crowds, knowledgeable about current social media trends, and have an eye for innovation.

We are seeking a self-motivated, food lover for a part-time position of 25-35 hours per week with flexible weekend and evening availability. Deli Cooks provide excellent customer service to all customers and produce high quality and consistently produced prepared and hot foods while maintaining a focus on cleanliness, food safety standards, and teamwork.

Free Screening: More Than Honey

We're partnering with the Kalamazoo Bee Club to present a free showing of “More Than Honey!"


This film addresses the serious conditions facing the survival of the honey bee and our food supply’s reliance on bee pollination. You'll be fascinated to learn about the interdependent relationship of humans and bees. Q&A with area beekeepers following the movie. Bring the whole family and enjoy dinner and a movie! The Alamo Drafthouse has in-theater food and beverage service.

PFC's 100-Mile Market

WHAT:  Join us for the 100-Mile Market every Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm, May through October! All food sold at this market is required to be grown or produced within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. 


We accept Bridge Cards at the market, and we'll be participating again in the Double Up Food Bucks! SNAP benefits customers, bring your Bridge Card to the market to get your SNAP tokens. In June, SNAP benefits will be matched up to $20 for fresh Michigan-grown fruits and veggies! That's $20 for free!
