PFC Cooking Class Schedule

Join us for a month full of food fun!

 

Our cooking classes are designed to help you cook healthy, sustainable food for you and your family while keeping a close eye on budget. All classes are $25 per adult, kids 12-17 come free with adult. And come hungry! In our classes, you’ll always eat well. Space is limited, so please sign up today with a friendly PFC cashier.

PFC Farmers Markets!

WHEN: 5 days weekly, all summer and fall!

 

WHERE: Multiple locations throughout Kalamazoo and Portage

 

WHAT: PFC operates three farmers markets - Kalamazoo Farmers Market, Portage Market, and 100-Mile Market! If you're looking for fresh local produce, baked goodies, cheeses, meats, prepared foods and food trucks, artisan goods, and much more, you're looking in the right place.
 

With markets 5 days a week, there's sure to be one right for you. Learn more about all of our markets by visting our PFC Markets website.
 

Our purpose is to connect customers and market businesses through honest relationships and to support community and local economies through a thriving market culture.  
 

We accept Bridge Cards at the market, and we participate in the Double Up Food Bucks program. SNAP benefits customers, bring your Bridge Card to the market to get your SNAP tokens. SNAP benefits will be matched up to $20 for fresh Michigan-grown fruits and veggies. That's $20 for free!
 

Many market vendors will accept SNAP benefits, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH and Market FRESH coupons.

Bike the Zoo Family Ride to 100-Mile Market

WHAT: We're celebrating bicycling and local food!


Join the "Bike the Zoo" ride starting at 3pm at Woodward Elementary School (606 Stuart Ave) for a slow ride to the Co-op's 100-Mile Market. There you'll find local market vendors all from within 100 miles and Buy 1 Get 1 Free popsicles.

Ride your bike, sign up for Bicycle Benefits, and $2 in Market Bucks, plus discounts inside the PFC.

All are welcome, no bicycle required!

Cooking Class: Kids in the Kitchen

WHEN: Tuesday, August 9, 6:30-8pm

WHAT: Bust the summer boredom and cook with your kids! Not only are kids are less picky eaters when they have a hand in making their food, but being able to cook increases their self-confidence and takes some work off your plate.

 

In this class, kids will learn to cook simple dishes as well as basic kitchen skills like using a sharp knife, measuring ingredients, reading a recipe, and using the stove/oven. All ages are welcome.

100-Mile Market Summer Shindig!

WHAT: Celebrate summery local food at the 100 Mile Market at our Summer Shindig! We'll have lawn games, a special summery meal on our Hot Bar, and more.

As always, you'll find plenty of ALL LOCAL farmers, bakers, and more, all bringing the bounty of summer from within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. EBT/SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks are accepted.
