100-Mile Market: Kzoo's only all-local farmers market!

WHEN: Wednesdays 3pm until 7pm, May - October

 

WHERE: Parking Lot of the People's Food Co-op
507 Harrison Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 

 

WHAT:  Join us for the 100-Mile Market every Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm, May through October! All food sold at this market is required to be grown or produced within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. 

 

We accept Bridge Cards at the market, and we'll be participating again in the Double Up Food Bucks program! SNAP benefits customers, bring your Bridge Card to the market to get your SNAP tokens. In June, SNAP benefits will be matched up to $20 for fresh Michigan-grown fruits and veggies! That's $20 for free!

Kalamazoo Farmers Market!

WHAT: People's Food Co-op is proud to manage the Kalamazoo Farmers Market! Our purpose is to connect customers and market businesses through honest relationships and to support community and local economies through a thriving market culture.

Free Summer Meals for Kids

WHEN: July and August, 2015

 

WHERE: Various locations throughout Kalamazoo county

 

WHAT: Kids need healthy food all year! At 35+ sites in Kalamazoo county, the Hunger-Free Community Coalition's Summer Feeding Service Program will be serving free meals to kids all summer. ALL children 0-18 years old are welcome, no paperwork or ID required.

DRIVE ELECTRIC KALAMAZOO: ELECTRIC VEHICLES @ 100-MILE MARKET!

WHAT: The fifth annual Drive Electric Week is coming to town! Test drive an electric vehicle (EV) and chat with Kalamazoo’s EV owners about their experiences. See what local organizations and individuals will receive awards for their support of local renewable energy and sustainability measures, presented by a special guest! 

Of course, you’ll also be able to enjoy the 100-Mile Market, bursting with food from within 100 miles of Kalamazoo. Registration not required, but will help with event planning. Register here.

PFC Board Meeting

WHEN: Monday, October 5 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm 

 

WHERE: 525 E. Kalamazoo Ave, our office building

 

WHAT: Join our Board of Directors and participate in the governance of your Co-op! 

 

The PFC Board will not be meeting in September because of the holiday. We'll resume regular meetings in October. 

 

The Board normally meets the first Monday of each month. Our meetings are open to the public and all owners and community members are encouraged to attend. For more information visit the Board of Directors page.
